The Ultimate Body Sculpting Combo: CoolSculpting® & EMSCULPT®

Woman in Dallas, TX with very toned body

When it comes to reducing fat and getting “swimwear ready,” few treatments are as popular as CoolSculpting®, but EMSCULPT® is gaining ground. Our Dallas and Plano patients choose CoolSculpting because it literally freezes away fat and helps them get the slim, toned bodies they’ve always wanted. For those who want to sculpt their muscles while also burning fat cells, EMSCULPT is a great option. We say “Why not both?”

CoolSculpting and EMSCULPT can be used together to create the ultimate body sculpting combo. Here are a few things you should keep in mind when planning your body contouring treatments.

How Does CoolSculpting Work?

The science behind CoolSculpting actually evolved in an unusual way. A pair of Harvard scientists observed the formation of dimples in children who frequently ate popsicles. After some investigation, the scientists discovered that fat cells freeze at higher temperatures than other cells, and that cold temperatures could be used to target and destroy fat. This process is called cryolipolysis.

This concept is now used during CoolSculpting treatment. The targeted fat is suctioned into an applicator and surrounded by carefully controlled cooling. As the fat is exposed to the cold, the cells are frozen and naturally shed by the body over time. Fat cells shed during this period are permanently lost and will not grow back. CoolSculpting can help reduce fat on many areas of the body, including the:

  • Midsection
  • Flanks
  • Inner and outer thighs
  • Upper arms
  • Back
  • Double-chin area

What Is EMSCULPT?

EMSCULPT is a nonsurgical body contouring treatment that helps build and define muscle. The procedure uses HIFEM (high-intensity focused electromagnetic) energy to trigger powerful contractions in specific muscle groups. When the energy penetrates the skin, it creates muscle movements that are similar to traditional exercise. Each time the muscles contract, they gradually grow stronger, helping the area become lean and toned.

This procedure is FDA-approved to improve abdominal muscle tone and contour the buttocks. It can also be used to sculpt the arm, calf, and thigh muscles, and can even burn small amounts of fat simultaneously.

Why Should I Combine Procedures?

Many patients enjoy combining CoolSculpting with EMSCULPT to create more comprehensive results. CoolSculpting is a great option for slimming down “pinchable” areas of fat, while EMSCULPT tones and defines the muscles underneath. When used together, you can reduce dumps and bulges that just won’t go away and replace them with lean, toned contours. When you come into our office, we’ll be happy to discuss a treatment plan that can help you achieve your body contouring goals.
