You’ve seen the TV commercials; you’ve read the news articles. You may have even browsed our website or thought about scheduling a consultation. But if you’re like most first-time CoolSculpting patients at our Dallas office, you still have plenty of questions about what to expect. In this blog post, I’ll answer 3 common questions people have about CoolSculpting.
But first, take a look at these before-and-after photos to get an idea of what’s possible:

I’d love for you to come in and talk to Dr. Stetler or me in person about the procedure, and meet with our wonderful staff. After you read up on CoolSculpting, you can contact us and we’ll be happy to schedule a personal consultation and provide answers to all of your specific questions.
How much does it cost?
CoolSculpting is typically more affordable than surgical liposuction, but the exact cost varies depending on where you’re having it done and how many sessions you need to get the results you want. Depending on the size of the applicator, prices at our practice range from $750 to $1500. During a patient’s initial consultation with us, we provide a written estimate that reflects the specifications and cost of their procedure.
For many CoolSculpting patients, the convenience, comfort, and time savings are priceless. There are no needles, scalpels, anesthesia, or days off for recuperation. Our CoolSculpting patients appreciate that they can come in for an hour, go back to their daily routine, then wait for the fat to start melting away.
How many treatments will I need?
CoolSculpting is a very effective procedure, but many people need more than one treatment to achieve their ideal results. A session can reduce excess fat in the treatment area by up to 20 or 25%, which is enough for some people, but not quite enough for others, who may return for one or more follow-up sessions. Also, it’s important to understand that certain treatment areas, such as the love handles or flanks, will, by their very nature, require 2 treatments – one for each side. Fortunately, our practice offers DualSculpting – the use of 2 CoolSculpting machines simultaneously to treat 2 areas at once. During your consultation, we evaluate your current condition and discuss your goals so we can develop the right treatment plan for you.
Is it permanent?
It should be. CoolSculpting destroys fat cells, and once they’re gone, they’re gone for good. But that’s not to say that you can’t regain weight. Just like anything else you do to slim down, you’ll need to hold up your end of the bargain in order to maintain your results. That means adhering to a reasonably healthy diet, getting regular exercise, and making sleep and stress management priorities. By taking care of yourself, you can ensure that CoolSculpting keeps its promises.
Incidentally, many of our patients find themselves more motivated and eager to get to the gym once they begin to see the changes that CoolSculpting makes to their bodies.
