PRFM for Hair Restoration: The Next Generation of PRP

Have you noticed more hair shedding than usual? Are you struggling with thinning hair or bald patches? Platelet-rich fibrin matrix (PRFM)—or what our team calls “next-generation PRP therapy”—could be the answer you’ve been searching for. Women and men from Frisco, Plano, and surrounding communities visit our Dallas center to achieve thicker, healthier hair.

What Is PRFM?

PRFM is a nonsurgical lunchtime treatment that promotes hair growth in women and men.

While both PRFM and PRP (platelet-rich plasma) use your own blood components to promote healing and regeneration, there is one distinct difference.

PRFM therapy with Selphyl takes the process further by capturing and compressing the fibrinogen from the blood sample into a fibrin matrix structure, or scaffold, for the platelets and growth factors to release into. This enables PRFM to deliver a higher concentration of platelets, stem cells, and natural growth factors than PRP, producing a thicker, longer-lasting reservoir to enhance healing for hair regrowth.

How Does PRFM Work for Hair Regrowth?

The concentrated platelets, growth factors, and newly created matrix in PRFM contain proteins that promote angiogenesis (new blood vessel growth) and stimulate the body’s stem cells when injected into the scalp. This triggers the stem cells surrounding the hair follicles to start a new hair cycle, reviving dormant follicles and increasing the thickness of existing hairs.

What are the benefits of PRFM for hair loss?

PRFM (Platelet-Rich Fibrin Matrix) therapy provides several key advantages for individuals experiencing hair loss:

  • Safe, natural treatment using your own blood cells
  • Stimulates growth of new, thicker hair
  • No surgery or downtime is required
  • Long-lasting results with periodic treatments

If you’re looking for an effective, nonsurgical way to treat thinning hair or balding areas, PRFM therapy could be an ideal solution. Reach out to a member of the DCDA team to learn if you’re a candidate!
