Although many dermal fillers share similar formulations, the JUVÉDERM family of fillers provides unique results, especially when injected by one of our experienced, skilled, board-certified dermatologists. JUVÉDERM fillers are formulated with hyaluronic acid (HA), a naturally occurring substance in the body known for its ability to hydrate and plump skin. HA acts as a moisture-binding agent, holding up to 1,000 times its weight in water and supporting skin health by promoting hydration, collagen synthesis, and tissue repair. When injected into the skin, HA-based fillers like JUVÉDERM replenish lost volume, smooth wrinkles, and restore a youthful appearance by attracting and retaining moisture within the skin’s layers.
Other dermal fillers, such as Restylane®, are similar to JUVÉDERM as an effective, low-risk wrinkle treatment. However, JUVÉDERM’s smoother texture and the patented cross-linking of the molecules set it apart from other products.
Some patients see results from JUVÉDERM injections after only a single treatment; others might need additional injections. The results typically last 6 to 12 months.

Allergan’s VYCROSS® technology is used in VOLLURE®, VOLUMA®, and VOLBELLA®. Each is tailored to add volume to specific areas of the face with long-lasting results.
The FDA approved VOLBELLA XC in 2016. It promotes lip fullness and wrinkle reduction in the area around the mouth. Our office was the first in Dallas to offer JUVÉDERM VOLBELLA XC for the lips and fine lip lines.
VOLBELLA differs slightly from other dermal fillers because it has a lower concentration of HA. This unique formulation makes it ideal for adding subtle volume to the lips and gently smoothing the lines around the mouth. Additionally, VOLBELLA smooths the surface of the lips, giving them fullness and shine.
While experiences vary, results can last up to a year—significantly longer than other products on the market.
JUVÉDERM VOLLURE XC treats deep “smile lines” that frame the mouth and nasolabial folds. Clinical trials showed the results of this minimally invasive treatment can last up to 18 months, although patient experiences may vary. Before the FDA approved VOLLURE, treatment for nasolabial folds and other moderate or severe wrinkles typically lasted only a year.
VOLLURE balances the gel’s firmness and low cohesiveness, making it an ideal choice for restoring volume in the nasolabial folds and other deeper wrinkles. Most patients concerned about deep wrinkles or folds can benefit from VOLLURE injections.
JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC is the first hyaluronic acid-based dermal filler to be FDA-approved to treat volume loss in the cheeks. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC is especially popular with patients who want to restore youthful-looking facial contours without surgery. Because the injections are so long-lasting and create such an effective “lifted” look, many patients consider them a suitable alternative to anti-aging facial surgery.
The product’s thicker gel is more durable and designed for deep injection in the larger cheek area. The smooth gel of VOLUMA XC creates soft, even results. The results of a single treatment are instant, and while experiences vary, results can last for up to 2 years.
